Nike Women Half Marathon 2013

marathonThe San Francisco Nike Women Half Marathon of 2012 was held on Sunday, October 14th. The 2013 Nike Women Half Marathon in D.C. will be hend on April, 28th – Race Time: 7:00AM and online registration atĀ  www.nike.com/nwmhalfdc/ . A “Random Drawing registration period” was held between Friday, November 16th through Thursday, December 6th. Information about the next 2013 Nike Women Half Marathon in SF and California will be released on this page very soon. Last year the half marathon courseĀ  (see map above) started at downtown San Francisco’s Union Square, near the intersection of Stockton and Post streets and unfolded mainly along the the San Francisco Bay before reaching the finish line in Golden Gate Park. Rule n#1: always start out slow. Many runners at the beginning feel very strong and confident, but then… everything change. This is why you must always follow the “negative split” rule which means running the first half of the marathon slower than the second half. If you take it slow not only your body will thank you for that but, during the later miles, you can “dose” the remaining strength in a more “tactical” and clever approach. By doing so also your mental toughness will really start to benefit and, believe it or not, many marathon expert learn to control their mind before to dominate their body.
